Bulgaria – with a focus on the promotion of cultural heritage in 2015

During the meeting of the National Tourism Council, which took place on January 20, 2015 in the city Sofia, Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova presented the vision of Bulgaria as year-round tourist destination. Emphasis is placed on cultural tourism by reserves and focus on winter and summer tourism. This will reveal the potential of our country and will atract additional tourists. Minister Nikolina Angelkova presented a list of specific cultural and historical routes in Bulgaria that business will be able to add in the development of tourist packages. The new concept for imposing Bulgaria as a year-round tourist destination will be consistent an annual program for national tourist advertising. Since March launched a massive advertising campaign of Bulgaria on Eurosport, Discovery Channel, Euronews and National Geographic Channel. It is envisaged to advertise the country to markets that could offset expected losses this year by Russian and Ukrainian tourists – Poland, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, Germany, Great Britain and others. In 2015  Bulgaria will be presented with 5 national stand of tourist exhibitions in Berlin, Moscow, London and Kiev and 35 information stands of other tourist exhibitions. This year from April to July Bulgarian Thracian treasures will be presented at the Louvre, which is also a unique opportunity for promotion of the country as a cultural and historical destination. At the meeting of the National Tourism Council was presented the concept for separation the country’s tourist areas. It will increase the competitiveness of tourist services and will make regions of Bulgaria recognizable. Centers of regions will be Rousse, Veliko Tarnovo, Blagoevgrad, Plovdiv, Bourgas, Bulgaria, Smolyan, Kazanlak, Sofia.
